Private Yacht or Shared Boat Trip in Side: Which Should You Choose?

Choose a private yacht in Side when your group is large enough to share the boat's price, when you have young children or an occasion to mark, or when you simply want your own pace. Choose a shared boat trip when you are one or two people on a tight budget and happy to follow a fixed plan. Private boats start from €550 for the whole boat.

The real difference: a seat or the whole boat

On a shared trip you buy a place on a boat that runs a set programme for everyone. On a private charter you book the boat itself: one group, no other passengers, and a day planned around you with the captain. Our guide to private yacht hire in Side explains what that means on our eight boats.

Neither is right for everyone. Here is how to tell which one is right for you.

When a private boat makes sense

A whole boat is usually worth it in these situations:

  • Your group is big enough to share one price. You pay for the boat, not per head, so families and groups of friends often find the gap smaller than expected.
  • You have small children. Naps, snacks and swimming happen on their schedule, not a timetable.
  • There is an occasion: a birthday, an anniversary, a proposal. Some moments deserve a deck without strangers.
  • You want your own pace: a longer swim, a slower lunch, quiet instead of music.
  • You want a particular boat, such as a flybridge yacht for sunset or the wooden gulet for a traditional day.

When a shared trip is enough

If you are travelling alone or as a pair on a budget, a shared trip is the sensible choice, and we would rather say so than oversell. You meet other travellers, the programme is planned for you, and you pay for your own place only. For the shared Side boat trips, see the shared boat trips on our sister site.

A shared trip is also fine if you are relaxed about a fixed route and do not mind a busier deck.

How the private price works

Private boats in Side start from €550 for the whole boat. That is a starting price; your final figure is a quote for your group, depending on the number of guests (children count), the boat, the daytime (10:00–15:00) or sunset package, and options such as a hotel transfer, food and soft drinks. Our private yacht prices guide walks through every part of the quote.

Every private charter can be cancelled free of charge up to 48 hours before the start, and how and when you pay is confirmed with your quote.

Still undecided?

Put the boats side by side on the comparison page, or send us your group size and date and ask for a quote with no obligation to book. Seeing the real figure for your group is often the quickest way to decide.

Questions guests ask

Is a private boat in Side worth it compared with a group trip?

For families, groups of friends and celebrations it often is, because one price covers the whole boat and the day runs at your pace. For one or two people on a budget, a shared trip is usually the better fit.

Do you sell shared boat trips as well?

This site is for private charters only. Shared Side boat trips are on our sister site for shared trips.

Can we get a private quote before deciding?

Yes. Send your date, package and group with children's ages, and we reply with the price for the whole boat.
